HOME IN THE WOODS II

the story

We have worked with this client through two other improvements to their home, and were asked to team up with the architect Joyce Puri to re-design their very dated master suite.  This couple and their family are the true Northwest ourdoorsy types, and regularly scale rock walls and hike on weekends. So the master bathroom felt far too cave-like, and they yearned for a light filled room that would make the daily rituals more enjoyable. We positioned the tub within the shower area and enlarged the window for a full view of the forest in the nearby ravine.  New cabinetry was designed to a more modern style, and the flooring was changed to a light reflecting limestone tile.  The bedroom gained a stone fireplace and a TV cabinet with a hidden access door.

At the same time, Studio Puri was designing an outdoor pavilion just 15 feet from their back door that would take care of all their outdoor entertaining needs.  We chose materials, finishes and lighting during a very enjoyable team experience.  Our client's now spend much of their time out there whether they are entertaining friends or just enjoying the fire pit as a family.
