LAKESIDE HOME

the story

This is the second home we have happily worked on for this client. The home appealed to them for its entertaining possibilities, especially for fundraising events, and the waterfront access. It was important to incorporate the couple's different tastes, one traditional the other modern. The main living areas were updated with lighter wall colors, new granite counter tops, and new lighting. Much of their traditional furniture from the former home was reused and freshened up with new upholstery. New furniture and area rugs were dovetailed in with the old to finish out the main living areas and a custom marble and brass coffee table was designed to have hidden trays that pull out to provide more space for cocktails and crudites.  Rooms were furnished throughout from the dining room to the bedrooms. The den/office of the former owner was transformed from a dark masculine cave to a lighter more feminine retreat for the new homeowner. Next to that, a small powder room was totally transformed into a whimsical tiled expression of water with a regal nod to a throne room at the vanity. One must not forget to have a sense of humor.
