nORTHWEST GLOW
The Story
This home was purchased in a wonderful neighborhood setting in Sammamish, WA. We were engaged to change the style towards a modern and energetic interior that would feel comfortable. We immediately dove into the first phase with a master plan for both the main floor and upper floor. This included new lighting, flooring and stair railing for the entry. The upstairs media room was changed into a cozy nest of furniture, with a proper “man-cave” bar for watching sports events. A bedroom near the front entry became a fun office for the artistic couple. This turned out to be just in time for the work-from-home lockdown!
The second phase was initiated a couple years later. In the kitchen, kitchen nook, dining room and living room, we exchanged the medium cherry cabinets for a more streamlined look, and painted them a soft color to catch the light nicely from the existing windows and skylight. Functionally, family gatherings in the kitchen were sometimes awkward due to the placement of a door to the outside. We replaced the door with windows and a large built-in seating area for the whole family that doubles as a hangout spot for kids, dogs and friends.
”When we walk down to the kitchen in the morning, we can’t believe this house is ours!”, we overheard the clients say when we visited for the photoshoot. It finally provides them a feeling of pride and the comfort of being home.
