Marilyn Deering, IIDA, Owner & Principle Designer
Practicing Interior Design is a mélange of planning, listening, artistry and follow-through. It is one of those professions that draws equally from both sides of the brain to create success. Marilyn has worked towards achieving this balance in her projects in the Seattle area for over 30 years. She has a broad range of project experience, from private homes to corporate offices and hospitality. She opened her own design studio in 2009 with a specialization in high-end residential projects. Marilyn and her team have a strong belief in the ability of design to improve people's lives by creating comfort and meaning in their environments.
Marilyn's affinity for art and design finds its way into each project. She values the individuality that local artisans and craftsmen can bring to a project, and makes it a priority to source and work with them. Within the community she supports the arts, volunteering through the Frye Museum docent program to teach kids, contributing to the Northwest Cabaret fundraisers, and donating design services to Seattle Opera.
Deering Design Studio has enjoyed many relationships with repeat clients because the firm is committed to organized, honest communication, and thoughtful designs. Clients are well informed throughout the decision making process. Projects are a collaboration, and each client's budget and unique style is important.
